Hybrid Turbocompound Configuration

Extreme performance aero turbocompound technologies combine extreme performance compressor-turbines with 2-stroke, 4-stroke and rotary engines to boost the engine and recycle exhaust energy into power, enabling up to 250X the pressure ratio of small turbines.

The high-pressure, high-temperature exhaust gas drives our turbine and compressor.  The turbine then drives alternators, shafts or propellers with up to 10X the power of current turbocompound technologies.

Up to 50% of total power output can come from our turbocompound systems utilizing recycled thermal energy.  The net result is that our tech can provide up to 60% brake efficiency at stratospheric altitudes, several times that of existing aero engines and small turbines, and much higher than the best aero fuel cells.

This is especially valuable for sub-liter aero engines used in medium and high altitude drones where there are no production turbocharged engines, forcing the use of heavy, over-sized, inefficient naturally aspirated engines.  In general, current solutions are limited to altitudes below 5 km, while our solutions can reach up to 15 km while achieving record power and efficiency levels.
